PIAS Recordings（电音厂牌）于1983年在比利时由Kenny Gates和Michel Lambot成立，成立初期名为Play It Again Sam（电音厂牌）。20世纪80年代早期，和其他欧洲独立厂牌一样，Play It Again Sam（电音厂牌）开始扩张，其早期签约的艺人包括Front 242, Meat Beat Manifesto 和 The Young Gods，后来还签约了The Sound, Soulwax/2ManyDJ's, Sigur Rós 和 Mogwai。
